Jowai, Dec 8: Jowai MLA Wailadmki Shylla on Wednesday inaugurated the Vocational Training Centre of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Department at Khliehtyrshi, West Jaiñtia Hills District, in the presence of Dr. K.B. Sahkhar Director Animal Husbandary & Veterinary Govt of Meghalaya, the JHADC MDC Lakhon Dkhar, amongst others.
Speaking on the occasion, Shylla urged the youth of Jaiñtia Hills to come forward and utilize the training centre; otherwise it will be a waste and a loss of the hard work of those who worked to make the Centre a reality.
He further informed that when he was elected as an MLA there were many pending projects in and around Jowai and he has tried to ensure that all these pending projects are completed and this Centre is one of those.
Earlier, Sahkhar informed that due to financial constraints the department was not able to inaugurate and operate the Centre for years, which had remained unutilised.
This centre is meant to train youth in poultry farming, and now the centre is waiting for affiliation from the Indian Government, and that the Certificate issued from the Centre will be accepted and recognised all over the country.
