Jowai, April 8: Jowai legislator Wailadmiki Shylla on Friday announced to donate Rs. 5 lakh to the Kur Sookpoh Khadar Wyrnai, Jowai, through the MLA Scheme. Kur Sookpoh Khadar Wyrnai is an organisation of the Sookpoh Clan.
Making the announcement at a function organised at Chiliangraij, Jowai, Shylla lauded the Organisation for uniting the Clan Members in Jaiñtia Hills and particularly in Jowai. He also thanked the clan for donating the land free of cost for the construction of the Loomkyrwiang UPHC which will be inaugurated in May next.
The programme was attended by the Principal of North Liberty Higher Secondary School, Richard Uriah as the guest of honour, the MDC of Jowai South, Saron Paswet, amongst others.
The Function was presided over by the Dolloi of Elaka Jowai, who is also the President of the organisation, Puramon Kynjing.
Others who spoke during the function were Lamwan Paswet who narrated the functions and objectives of the Organisation while Marryngkat Syngkon delivered the vote of thanks.
