Shillong, April 6: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday said war against drugs is a coordinated effort among the North-eastern (NE) states and not an isolated war.
Speaking to reporters at the sidelines of the passing out parade of 50th batch of Basic Course at NEPA, Umiam, Sarma said under the umbrella of National Drugs Control, there is already a coordinated effort among all police forces in the North-eastern region.
“Many times we nabbed some drug peddlers or seized huge quantities of drugs. Basically, sometimes those information comes from our sister states in the North East region. So war against drugs is a coordinated effort and it is not an isolated war,” he asserted.
