Shillong, April 16: The inaugural ‘Yummy Talent Fest’, backed by Yummy Noodles, came to a grand finale with flair and festivity at the U Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong, recently. The event, held on April 5, drew a crowd of over 600 and celebrated local talent in the region through vibrant performances, live art, and community engagement.
Launched on November 5, 2024, the talent fest was conceived as a platform to recognize and promote Meghalaya’s emerging artists and performers, with a total prize pool of Rs. 2 lakh.

Yummy Noodles has both its factory and strongest consumer base in Meghalaya, and the event was a way of the company to give back to the community that has supported it since 2008.
After a rigorous selection process from 142 state-wide registrations, 20 finalists—10 each in Entertainment and Creativity categories—took centre stage during the grand finale. The build-up to the event also saw participants promoted on social media, gaining statewide and national attention for their unique skills and voices.

Expressing her pride in the initiative, Yummy Noodles’ Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Rithika Baruah said, “We are incredibly proud to have launched the Yummy Talent Fest. Our goal was to create a platform where Meghalaya’s hidden talents could be discovered and celebrated. The community’s response has been phenomenal, and we are thrilled to have played a role in showcasing the incredible creativity and artistry within the region. This is our way of giving back while nurturing the next generation of artists.”

The brand aims to continue taking Yummy Talent Fest to more cities and states, creating a national movement that fuses culture, community, and creativity under one stage.

Highlights of the grand finale included live performances by all Entertainment Category finalists, a “Creative Zone” for artists to exhibit and create in real-time, open mic sessions where audience members got the change to perform and win prizes, an interactive “Yummy 60-Second Noodle Battle” with a prize of Rs. 10,000, judging through live online polls and a panel of distinguished judges from Meghalaya, and distribution of participant certificates and exclusive Yummy merchandise to registered performers
