Tura, May 20: The district administration of West Garo Hills has imposed a “total curfew” in the entire district in view of the continuous increase of Covid-19 cases in the district. The curfew will be effective from 2 pm of May 21 till 5 am of June 1.
“It is necessary to break the transmission chain and necessary to put in place preventive measures to contain the further spread of Covid-19 virus in the district,” said Ram Singh, DC of West Garo Hills in the order issued on Thursday evening.
The order restricted the Inter-District movement of persons. No person is to step out without a valid reason vehicles plying without passes will be liable for strict penalties.
ln situ constructions are not allowed within Tura Municipal area except for medical and corona care centre construction activities.

– Movement of essential goods.
– Goods vehicles E-Commerce services, supply of Medicines and Pharmaceuticals.
– Home Delivery services.
– Persons travelling on Essential Government duty viz on covid.

– Civil Defense and Home guards
– Fire and Emergency Services.
– Water Supply (PHE), including private water supply.
– Roads Buildings (PWD, NHAI)
– Information and Public Relation.
– Petrol and diesel tankers including LPG home delivery.
– Print and electronic media

– Petrol Pumps
– Telegram and Telecommunication Services
– Central government offices as notified by Home (political department vide Notification No POL.117/2020 /Pt.VI/225, dated 18.05.2021 and State Government offices as notified by Personnel & A.R (A) department vide notification. NO. PER.62/20202/54, dated 18.5.2021)
– Funeral gathering, but should be restricted to 20 persons only with prior permission.
