Shillong, April 14: Atlanta D Shira has once again made Meghalaya proud by winning the NPC Tripura Championship 2025. He won gold in the overall bodybuilding category.
The National Physique Championship (NPC) under the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB) was held in Tripura capital Agartala on Sunday.
He won the gold in Classic Physique, gold in Bodybuilding and silver in Men Physique
“Another medals for Meghalaya. ~Gold in classic physique.~Gold in bodybuilding. ~Silver in Men physic. Feel glad and proud to win this titles at National physique champion under IFBB held at Agartala, Tripura. Very good grateful to each and every one who supported me. And I want to give my special thanks to my Sponsors sir @conrad_k_sangma @marcuisemarak @tonycheran @Georgemon Marak @SirSteve and others who supported me not only financially but with their kind words. Also i want to thanks my coach for believing and pushing me in every level,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
The categories in the championship included Junior Bodybuilding, Junior Men Physique, Bikini, Senior Men Physique, Class Physique and Bodybuilding.
He had recently won the NPC Rajasthan Championship, held on March 30, 2025.
The 28-year-old from Meghalaya’s Garo Hills has won two national-level championships. Prior to foraying into the national arena, he had won the Mr. Meghalaya title in 2022 and 2023 and was crowned Iron Man of Meghalaya in 2021.
The state-level or regional-level national physique championships are part of NPC Worldwide events, which will culminate in the NPC Nationals scheduled to take place in Pune on May 18, followed by IFBB Pro League Qualifer scheduled on May 30 – June 1, 2025. A total of 11 IFBB Pro Cards will be up for grabs at the Pro Qualifer.
NPC is the official gateway for amateur athletes who want to become professionals in bodybuilding and related categories like Men’s Physique, Classic Physique, Women’s Bikini, among others. Top winners at Pro Qualifier event earn a pro card, which enables them to compete internationally. Winning or finishing at the top spots in IFBB Pro League contests qualifies one to take part in Mr. Olympia.
