Jowai, May 23: A 14-wheeler truck overloaded with plywood overturned in the Jowai-Shillong Road in the Wah Mynsoo area of Mookyndur village on Wednesday afternoon.
The truck, bearing registration number UP-32-EN-3717, was driven by Hajar Ali (32 years old), a resident of Sitapur Khairabad, Uttar Pradesh.
As per a circulated video of the accident, it shows that the truck was unable to move up a small steep road, causing it to roll backward. The driver had to jump out of the truck, leaving it to roll backward and overturn.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Police informed that the truck was coming from Uttar Pradesh and headed towards Silchar.
