18-year-old missing girl in Bajengdoba returns home

Tura, May 26: The 18-year-old school girl who went missing in Bajengdoba while returning from her school on Wednesday afternoon and was suspected to have been kidnapped has surprisingly returned home the same night.

North Garo Hills police said that they were informed of the girl’s return late in the night and were now taking her statement.

She claimed to have been dropped home in a vehicle.

Earlier, Police registered a case and started investigation after the 18-year-old, identified as Tadingsa R. Sangma, was allegedly abducted when she was walking back home from her government MP school at Bajengdoba. According to her friend, someone in a maruti car stopped and forcefully took her inside and drove away on Wednesday afternoon.

According to her friend who was spared, a maruti car suddenly came up and a man got down and dragged the girl into the waiting vehicle before driving away. The victim is said to have called up her friend to say she was being kept isolated before the phone was switched off.

In another case, a Class X student of Kristo Jyoti school in Bajengdoba, identified as Rakilson Sangma, has been missing since Sunday. A resident of Goalpara, Rakilson was staying at Line A.ding in Bajengdoba to do his schooling.
