Baghmara, Nov 1: A large number of people from all walks of life gathered to witness the first-ever ‘Gram Sabha’ organized by the office of the Block Development Officer under Baghmara C&RD Block at Mahadeo UP School in South Garo Hills District of Meghalaya.
Various departments, including Agriculture, Social Welfare, DCIC, MBDA, Fisheries, Skill Development, LEAD Bank, and others, set up stalls to inform the public about their schemes and how to access these benefits.
Assistant Research Officer C.R. Marak provided an overview of the Meghalaya Right to Public Service Act, 2020, to educate the attendees. Additionally, brochures translated into the local language were distributed at the event.
The program also featured a medical camp and Aadhaar enrollment drives for the community.
