2-day 7th District Industrial Exhibition begins in Ampati

Ampati, May 11: The 7th Annual District Level Industrial Exhibition, organized by Office of the General Manager, District Commerce and Industries Centre (DCIC), Ampati, began on Thursday.

The two-day event was inaugurated by Deputy Commissioner of South West Garo Hills, RP Marak at Multi Facility Centre, near Ampati Market.

The event aims to promote and support various micro MSME unit in the district. The district has potential in tailoring, handloom, weaving, cane and bamboo crafts and most recently in honey farming.

As the exhibition stalls are provided free of costs, this year, as many as 25 units and enterprises, mostly from within the district are participating in the event. Among these participating units are, PMEGP beneficiaries, two stalls from Selsella Cashew Cluster and some of the Government Offices, viz., District Agriculture Office, District Horticulture Office and Superintendent of Fisheries Office. Tailoring, weaving, cane and bamboo crafts, wood crafts, etc. are the major trades of these participating units.

The District Level Industrial Exhibition not only provides opportunities for marketing and business linkups, but it also provides a platform to the entrepreneurs for knowledge, skill sharing and upgradation. This event also serves as a platform for advertisement and promotion of the local products and also gives them exposure to new and current trends in the market.
