State Level Youth Exchange Programme 2024 concludes on a high note
Shillong, Nov 7: The State Level Youth Exchange Programme 2024 has culminated with the selection of 24 youth for the upcoming International Empower Youth Programme in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The closing ceremony was held on Thursday at the Convocation Hall of NEHU’s Shillong Campus, showcasing the vibrant energy and skill of Meghalaya’s youth.
Organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of Meghalaya, the programme was held from November 4 to 7, bringing together talented youths from all 12 districts.
The event featured an array of competitions, interactive sessions, and talent hunts, which included Declamation, Quiz, Poetry Writing, Story Writing, Painting, Folk Song and Dance (solo and group), and Science Mela. Moreover, interactive sessions and talent hunts were organised to foster skills and creativity among youths.
Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills, R M Kurbah, congratulated the participants, acknowledging their exceptional prowess and skills. The programme also served as a platform for selecting youths to represent Meghalaya at the north-east, national, and international levels, with 24 youth set to represent the State at the upcoming International Empower Youth Programme in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Dignitaries in attendance include D.D Shira, Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Govt of Meghalaya, P. B. War Nongbri, Assistant Director Sports and Youth Affairs, K Passah, Assistant Director Sports and Youth Affairs, Fr. Michael Makri and D Rapsang. District Sports officers, and officials from NYK and NSS were also present.
