26 Meghalaya students safely evacuated from Sikkim, enroute home via road

Shillong, Oct 7: In much relief for the residents of Meghalaya stranded in natural calamity affected Sikkim, Meghalaya government has safely evacuated 26 of its students studying in the state.

Till the filling of this report, these 26 students were enroute to Meghalaya via road and had crossed Kokrajhar in Assam.

The operation got underway on Friday. Meghalaya Government had hired 5 vehicles to safely transport its students out of Sikkim’s Majitar to Siliguri.

After reaching Siliguri late on Friday night, they were put on a bus for Shillong arranged by the government.
