Tura, Aug 8: The 2nd Inter Mahari Women’s Football Tournament 2024 kicked off with their first match between Maji Mahari and Dawa Mahari at the Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Thursday.
The opening game of the women’s tournament saw a goalless match between the two, with the winner decided by a penalty shootout. Maji Mahari won in the penalty shootout by 3-1 against Dawa Mahari.
No cautionary yellow cards were issued in this game.
Notably the matches played in the women’s category are of 50 minutes duration, with each half lasting for 25 minutes.
The tourney is played on a knockout basis, with the teams both in the Men’s and Women’s category competing for the coveted trophy and prize.
The second match of the 2nd Inter Mahari Women’s Football Tournament will be played between Dio Mahari and Gabil Mahari at the Chandmari Football Turf on Friday at 2:30pm.
