Tura, Sept 10: The 2nd Inter Mahari Women’s Football Tournament kicked off with their semi-finals on Monday at the P. A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre, with the first match played between Mangsang Mahari and Rangsa Mahari that resulted in a dramatic penalty shootout to decide the winner.

The match began with Mangsang Mahari launching a series of aggressive attacks, but Rangsa Mahari soon found their rhythm and responded strongly. Despite a series of back-and-forth attacks and numerous corner kicks, neither team managed to score during the regular time, ending the game at 0-0, which culminated in a tie breaker penalty shootout.

Rangsa Mahari players missed two from the 12-yard mark, while Mangsang Mahari were able to convert four, eventually winning the game 4-2 on penalties. With this win the Mangsang Mahari team has moved on to the final of the 2nd Inter Mahari Women’s Football Tournament.

Silanchi R Marak of Rangsa Mahari team received the cautionary yellow card in the 7th minute for a foul.

The semi final matches are ticketed event, with general tickets being sold at Rs. 50 and the VIP tickets are sold at Rs. 100. The tickets will be available at the venue, i.e., P. A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre.

The next semi final match of the women’s division will be played between the Bolwari Mahari and Chambugong Mahari on Wednesday at the P. A. Sangma Stadium.
