Tura, Aug 30: The quarter-finals of the 2nd Inter Mahari Women’s Football Tournament 2024 kicked off with their first match between Mangsang Mahari and Agitok Mahari at the Chandmari Football Turf in Tura on Friday.

Mangsang Mahari emerged the winner of the crucial match with all of their 3 goals coming in the first half, while Agitok Mahari remained goalless.

For Mangsang, the goals were scored by Santilla M Sangma in the 6th minute, Wanrilang M Sangma in the 11th minute and Kimre M Sangma in the 13th minute.

Second half of the game saw a goalless match. Both teams tried their best at scoring but were unable as the goalkeeper of each side were successful at securing the ball.

Luck eluded the Agitok Mahari team as they were unable to connect their shots throughout the game.

Santilla M Sangma of Mangsang mahari received the only cautionary yellow card of the game in the first minute for a foul.

Three matches will be played on Saturday at the Chandmari Football Turf.

At 1:00pm, Bolwari Mahari will be facing Dio Mahari in the women’ division.

At 2:15pm, Rongmuthu Mahari vs Te’gite Mahari and at 3:30pm, Chambugong Mahari will face Agitok Mahari in the men’s division.

The finals of the Inter-Mahari football, for both Men and Women’s categories, will be held at P.A. Sangma Stadium on September 21.
