Guwahati, April 8: A Special Court in the sensational rape and murder case of two minor sisters in Kokrajhar’s Abhayakhuti has handed death sentence to the three accused in the case.

The accused – Parijul Rahman, Nasibul Ali Sheik and Mozzamel Sheik – were convicted for the rape and murder of two girls of Kokrajhar.

A Special Court in Kokrajhar announced the judgement against the three convicts who were involved in the Abhayakuti rape and murder case.

On June 11, 2021, the three youth abducted two tribal girls from Abhayakhuti area of Kokrajhar district. The girls were from the same family and had gone to the nearby weekly market. While they were returning home, a gang of criminals abducted them, raped and murdered the girls and hanged them on a tree. The rapists tried to show it as a case of suicide.
