Guwahati, Jan 30: In a joint operation, three persons were arrested with animal parts in Assam’s Nagaon district on Wednesday.
Tiger claws, tiger canines, tiger bones and an elephant tusk were recovered from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Amar Hansey, Mahendra Borgrang and Probin Sangma, the official said
Acting on a tip-off, a joint operation was conducted by the Eastern Wildlife Division, Nagaon Territorial Forest Division and the police in the Kathiatoli area, the arrests were made.
The Assam Forest department has been taking all slew of measures to curb the wildlife crime.
In a joint operation conducted by the Doomdooma Forest Division and the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, the forest officials arrested three individuals and recovered pangolin skin, leopard skin and antlers of a sambar deer near Badlabhata tea estate in Assam’s Tinsukia district recently.
The arrested individuals has been identified as- Ajit Moran, Dipen Chetia and Mantu Moran.
