Tura, Apr 19: In the urban area of Tura, voter turnout has been low. Although a large number of people were observed at the polling stations until early afternoon, there was a decrease in turnout from 1 pm to 2:30 pm.
However, a significant increase in turnout was witnessed again from 2:30 pm onwards, indicating a potential rise in the overall voting percentage.
Official data released at 3:30 PM revealed that voting in South Tura stood at 37.5 percent, while in North Tura, it reached 60 percent.
South Tura Assembly constituency is represented by Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma, while North Tura constituency is represented by Meghalaya Speaker Thomas A. Sangma. NPP candidate Agatha K. Sangma also exercised her voting right in the South Tura assembly constituency.
