Tura, April 24: The second day of the 3rd P.A. Sangma Memorial Day & Night Cricket Tournament, the biggest local sporting extravaganza in Garo Hills, saw eight intense matches on Wednesday at the Police Parade Ground in Tura.
In the match between Tura Municipal Board and IYC Tura, the Tura Municipal Board won the match by 12 runs. Tura Municipal Board batted first and set a target of 139 runs with a loss of 5 wicket. IYC played well with Atlu Birth scoring 78 runs in 30 balls but fell short in securing a win.
The day also featured the West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Jagdish Chelani’s team DC XI going against Jengjal. The Jengjal team defeated DC XI by 19 runs. Jengjal team batted first but were all out in 9 overs setting a target of 79 runs. DC XI played well but were all out in 7 overs with a score of 60 runs. Chelani displayed his skilful bowling prowess as he took 4 wickets in 3 overs with a hat-trick in the mix.
The day’s event also included the P. A. Sangma Memorial Day & Night Cricket Committee observing a two-minute silence in tribute to the lives lost in the recent Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu & Kashmir.

– Teens won against Gabbar by 5 wickets.
– Traffic Police Tura won by 81 runs against Sun Rising.
– Goira Kimpret defeated Silkamal by 64 runs.
– D M Supernine won by 12 runs against Youngstar Club.
– Unknown 11 defeated Zen X by 11 runs.
– Nabinpally Unity won by 4 wickets against Shantinagar Brothers.
