Tura, April 28: Second round of culling commenced on Sunday as Day 6 of the 3rd P. A. Sangma Memorial Day & Night Cricket Tournament continued at the Police Parade ground in Tura.
First match of the second round was Durabanda Rising pitted against Club Mean Machine. Batting first, Durabanda Rising managed to score only 38 runs before being bowled out in 9 overs.
Club Mean Machine chased down the target in mere 2 overs (41/1) winning the match by 7 wickets. Jangkar Momin of Club Mean Machine was awarded player of the match for scoring 35 runs in just 8 balls and scalping 3 wickets in 2 overs.
Next match was between South Tura NPYF and Teens. South Tura NPYF batted first and set a target of 136 runs (scoring 135) with a loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 10 overs. Teens played tremendously and chased down the target in just 7.3 overs (136/2), registering a 6-wicket victory. Ivan R Marak of Teens was awarded player of the match for scoring 85 runs in 21 balls.
Result of other matches:
– Aces Eleven won by 148 runs against Tura Titans. Balbo Marak of Aces Eleven was awarded player of the match.
– Bugara United B won by 58 runs against Skylark. Rikrak Sangma of Bugara United B was awarded player of the match.
– Ka-Raka won by 7 wickets against Traffic Police Tura. Baichang of Ka-Raka was awarded player of the match.
– Chokpot Wonders won by 7 wickets against TMB. Tangke Marak of Chokpot Wonders was awarded player of the match.
– RS XI won by 6 wickets against Underrated XI. Rechil Marak of RS XI was awarded player of the match.
– D M Super 9 won by 8 wickets against Bong Warriors XI. Rohit Hoque of D M Super 9 was awarded player of the match.
