The inaugural day featured a match between Durabanda Rising IX and One Shot, where the Durabanda Rising team won the match by 66 runs and the team’s Anjoy Ch Marak received the man of the match award.

This year, the tournament has introduced two new features to make the competition more intense and strategic – Power Play and Impact Player Rule.

The first 3 overs of each innings will be designated as Power Play and during this period, only 2 fielders will be allowed outside the 20-yard circle. Furthermore, each team can name one Impact Player at the toss. The Impact Player can be brought in any time — either to bat or bowl (but not both if already out or bowled) and only one substitution is allowed per match.

The tournament has seen an exponential growth in its popularity over the years, with around 70 local teams participating in the first instalment, 92 local teams in the second edition and this year’s segment witnessing a massive participation of 99 local teams from the Garo Hills region.
