Tura, Jan 3: Four BSF jawans were left injured after their speeding battalion truck lost control and dashed straight into a hillock before overturning in the Rongara-Maheskola border region of South Garo Hills on 2nd January night.
The BSF truck belonging to 1st Battalion of the BSF, headquartered in Tura, had armed personnel and goods meant for the border post and had left Baghmara town for remote Maheskola border outpost near South West Khasi Hills district on Tuesday.
The driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle apparantly due to malfunctioning brakes and dashed straight into a hillock.
The four injured jawans were later brought back to Baghmara civil hospital for medical treatment before being discharged and taken back to Tura.
