Tura, Aug 13: The 4th Inter Mahari Men’s Football Tournament witnessed two entertaining matches at the Chandmari Football Turf on Tuesday. The first match was between Chisim Mahari and Napak Mahari, and the second match was played between Manda Mahari and Raksam Mahari.
In the first match, the Chisim Mahari dominated the Napak Mahari team by a massive 7-1 goals. Chisim Mahari supporters were seen cheering with banners and team flag, as their players displayed an exceptional game.
Goal scorers from Chisim Mahari team included: Chugam Ch Sangma in the 9th minute, Eldrin D Sangma in the 12th minute, Jaseng A Sangma in the 16th minute, Chugam Ch Sangma in the 24th minute, Wiseson Ch Sangma in the 38th minute, Jaseng A Sangma in the 40th minute, and Chugam Ch Sangma in the 44th minute.
Despite the hammering, Napak Mahari managed to regain its pride back with a solitary goal by Mathew N Marak in the 55th minute.
No cautionary yellow cards were awarded in the game.
The second game of the day saw a goalless match between the Manda Mahari and Raksam Mahari, which culminated into a penalty shootout to determine the winner. The Manda Mahari won in the penalty shootout by 4-2.
The Manda Mahari’s victory in the tie breaker was met with loud cheers by their supporters from the stands waving the team flag with robust energy.
Arwilson M Sangma of Manda Mahari received the only cautionary yellow card of the game in the 44th minute for a foul.
There will be two matches played on August 14: Te’gite Mahari vs Mri Mahari at 1:45 pm and A’gitok Mahari vs Rechil Mahari at 3:15 pm at the Chandmari Football Turf.
