Tura, Sept 16: The second semi-final match of the 4th Inter Mahari Men’s Football Tournament took place between Agitok Mahari and Do.po Mahari on Monday at the P.A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre, Tura.
After a thrilling back-and-forth and an exciting second half, Agitok Mahari secured the final spot in the final with a 2-0 victory over Do.po Mahari.
The match began with Agitok Mahari taking an early lead when Balkin A Sangma scored in the 8th minute. Despite several attempts from Do.po Mahari, they struggled to convert their chances, and Agitok maintained their 1-0 lead through the first half.
The halftime break seemed to invigorate the Do.po Mahari team, as they improved their ball possession and intensified their efforts to score. However, luck was not on their side, as they failed to capitalize on clear opportunities. Just before the final whistle, Rosan A Sangma of Agitok sealed the win with a goal in the 59th minute.
With this victory, Agitok Mahari advance to the final.
During the match, Learmilford A Sangma of Agitok received a yellow card in the 40th minute, while Austin D Sangma and Silgrikrak D Sangma of Do.po Mahari were cautioned with yellow cards in the 40th and 59th minutes, respectively.
The stage is now set for an exciting final showdown between Agitok Mahari and Bolwari Mahari, scheduled for September 21 at the P.A. Sangma Stadium in Dakopgre, Tura.
