Agartala, Feb 12: Tripura police has arrested six people after a man was beaten to death by locals on suspicion of theft at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya school in Belonia subdivision.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Mustafa (20), Abdul Hossain (40), Utpal Dey (24), Akash Das (23), Sanjay Tewari (45), and Shiv Shankar (23).
According to reports, Babul Mia (35), was attacked by a group of people late Sunday night in the school premises after he was suspected of theft. He was rushed to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

The arrest was made following a complaint by the family members of the Babul Mia.
“No one is permitted to take the law into their own hand. We have arrested six persons in connection with the incident and investigation is going on. We will take stringent action against the persons found guilty,” said an police official.
