Shillong, April 30: The six-year-old Samborlang Rynjah, who has taken the internet by storm with his exceptional goalkeeping skills, has now received a scholarship offer from Minerva Punjab Football Academy, the former I-League team and a top football academy in the country.
This was confirmed by his mother, Kyntiewlang Rynjah, while speaking to HubNews on Tuesday. She informed that the club has offered Samborlang a scholarship in which they will take care of all his expenses, including schooling and football expenses. The club will provide him with training and coaching to properly develop his goalkeeping skills, said Kyntiewlang.
Minerva Academy Football Club is an Indian professional multi-sports club based in Chandigarh, Punjab, best known for its football academy. The academy is owned by football enthusiast and businessman Ranjit Bajaj.
Samborlang has been the talk of the town for quite a few days now after the six-year-old boy from Mawryngkneng was widely recognized, all thanks to the person behind the camera who captured his extremely talented goalkeeping skills. This particular video has even reached the current Best Goalkeeper of the World, Emiliano Martinez, who shared the video in his Instagram story. Even the Indian Super League (ISL) official account has shared Samborlang’s skills on their account. This has made football clubs all over the nation want Samborlang to be part of their team, so one day he will be an asset who will bring laurels to the country.
