Tura, Nov 21: The 6th Edition of Bilgaro organized by Tura Motor Sports Club (TMSC) was held amidst much fanfare at Marakgre, Jengjal and Dodinanggre, Asibra where the Hill Climb and Sprint was held, respectively. All together 21 participants took part in the event which was held for the 4-wheel (4W) automobiles.
The two-day event witnessed participation from places like Delhi, Dimapur, Kohima, Shillong among others. There were four classes in the event Class-I Upto 1300 CC, Class-2 Above 1300 CC, Class-3 SUV and Overall.
The event was flagged-off by Benedic R. Marak, Chief Executive Member, GHADC from Goeragre after which all the vehicles drove off to Marakgre for the Hill Climb.
The prize distribution ceremony was held at Dodinanggre where the sprint was also held. Executive Member (Taxation), GHADC, Grahambell A Sangma, was the Chief Guest and gave away the prizes.
In his short speech he welcomed all the drivers and expressed the need for such kind of events. He also pointed out the challenges in organizing a car rally of this proportion at a very short notice.
While trophies were handed over to the winners, medals were given to all the participants. The top three winner in the Overall class were given cash prizes totalling Rs. 1.80 lakh.
TMSC also donated a sum of Rs.20,000 to the Nokma of Dodinanggre.
