Guwahati, Oct 29: 7 German nationals are set to be deported for flouting visa rules in Assam. They were restrained by the Golaghat District Police as they attended religious missionary gatherings in parts of Assam without a permitted visa.

As per high level police sources, they attended religious gatherings in Tinsukia, Karbi Anglong and halted in Golaghat. They had other plans to visit different areas, but they were stopped by the Assam police.

They are now in Kaziranga and after that they will be taken to Guwahati and later to Kolkata and then deported.

The crackdown against tourist visa violations and illegal visits to religious gatherings continues in Assam.

Earlier, 3 Swedish nationals Marcus, Hanna and Susanna were deported after paying a fine of USD 500 each for Visa violation to Stockholm by Qatar on Thursday.
