8 suspected Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen operatives nabbed in Assam

Guwahati, Dec 18: In a series of coordinated operations, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police has arrested eight individuals suspected of having links with the Jihadist group Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JeI-M).

The arrests were made at two key locations. Four suspects were apprehended in the Namapara area of Joypur in Kokrajhar district, while the remaining four were taken into custody from Dhubri district.

Acting on a tip-off, the STF conducted multiple raids over the past several hours, leading to the capture of the suspected operatives. Sources indicate that the detainees have been transported to Guwahati for further interrogation.

More details on the ongoing investigation are awaited.
