Shillong, May 26: The A.chik Nehu Students’ Union in Shillong announced the newly elected Executive Committee (EC) members for the 2024-2025 session.
The election was held on May 24 in the university premises.
As the A.chik Nehu Students’ Union embarks on a new chapter under the guidance of its elected leaders, the new EC reaffirms its commitment to serve as a voice for students and a catalyst for positive transformation within the university and beyond.
The elected members are as follows:
– President: Wegasal Sangma
– Vice President: Griksal Sangma
– General Secretary: Amratha M. Sangma
– Assistant General Secretary: Praister Ch. Marak
These individuals have been chosen by the students to lead the union, representing unique skills, experiences, and dedication to the A.chik student body for the upcoming academic year.
The newly elected executive committee is expected to focus on various initiatives aimed at enhancing student welfare, promoting academic excellence, and fostering in a vibrant campus community.
In a demonstration of collaborative leadership and continuity, the appointment of additional executive members for the A.chik Nehu Students’ Union Shillong was carried out through a consultative process involving former executive members and the newly elected President, Vice President, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary.
The process began with consultations with former executive members who possessed valuable insights and experience in leading the union. Their advice and recommendations were sought to identify potential candidates who could effectively contribute to the union’s goals and objectives.
The newly elected President, Vice President, General Secretary, and Assistant General Secretary played a pivotal role in the appointment process. Drawing on their fresh perspectives and understanding of the union’s current needs, they actively participated in discussions and decision-making regarding the selection of additional executive members.
The additional executive members of the A.chik Nehu Students’ Union Shillong will be selected based on their leadership abilities, commitment to student welfare, past involvement in union activities, and alignment with the union’s values and objectives, ultimately serving the best interests of the student community in Shillong.
