AAP Assam LS candidates begin poll campaign with Kamakhya Temple visit

Guwahati, Feb 12: Aam Aadmi Party’s Lok Sabha candidates in Assam launched poll campaign in the state by offering prayers at the Kamakhya temple in Guwahati.

AAP candidate from Gauhati seat, Bhaben Choudhury, along with the party’s Dibrugarh candidate, Manoj Dhanowar, offered their prayers at the holy shrine atop Nilachal hills.

The party’s third contestant from Sonitpur, Rishi Raj, was not present as he was in a meeting in his hometown Tezpur.

Bhaben Choudhury and Manoj Dhanowar also paid tributes at the samadhi of the state’s cultural icon, Bhupen Hazarika.

It’s noteworthy that, AAP has a major trust on Guwahati Candidate Bhaben Choudhury. Under his leadership, in the 2022 Guwahati Municipal Corporation elections, the party won one seat and also had an overall second highest vote share of around 15 percent.
