Tura, Oct 27: A’chik Baptist Dalgipa Krima (ABDK) and Garo Baptist Convention (GBC) organised the Church Leader’s Conference on Contextual Social Issues at the New Tura Field.
On Friday, October 27th, the first session was held on the church’s ministry to the poor and marginalised by Mrs. Bonjera A. Sangma, Women’s Director, ABDK, Tura.
The second session was held by Rev. Janang R. Sangma, General Secretary, ABDK, Tura on Disability and the Church.
The third session was on the role of the church in the growth and development of children by Mrs. Shikali P. Marak, Women’s Secretary, Krima IV, followed by an interactive session.
On Saturday (October 28th), the first session will be held on substance abuse and the problem of addiction by Dr. Siddarth K. Sangma, Surgeon, Tura Christian Hospital.
The second session is by Rev. Firthing D. Sangma, Pamong, and Hawakhana B. C. Krima IV on the role of the church in counselling and rehabilitation of addicts.
The third session is by Rev. Stafford K. Sangma, Pamong TBC, and Krima IV on crisis counselling, followed by an interactive session.

More than 600 leaders have enrolled in this programme. Many have come from Goalpara, Boko, Shillong, and Balat (Sohra).
The programme will end on Sunday with the adoption of resolutions.
