Guwahati, Mar 10: Members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), organised a protest at Guwahati’s Dighalipukhuri on Sunday against the West Bengal Government in response to the Sandeshkhali violence.
Members of the ABVP demanded immediately action by West Bengal Government against those responsible for the violence.
ABVP members alleged that for the last few years, women of Sandeshkhali area of North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal were being sexually exploited, tortured by criminals sheltered by the state government.
Anti West Bengal government slogans, placards and CM Mamata Banerjee’s effigy was also burned during the protest.
ABVP members have submitted a memorandum to President of India Droupadi Murmu through district commissioner of Kamrup metro for their demands.
