Tura, June 5: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Garo Hills unit marked World Environment Day by organizing a massive plantation drive and distributing saplings among various administrative offices, school principals, and college principals.
This effort was aimed at fostering environmental consciousness and promoting sustainable practices within the community. ABVP Garo Hills unit planned the event to ensure maximum impact and community involvement.
This year’s theme for World Environment Day, “Ecosystem Restoration,” was integral to the activities, highlighting the importance of restoring and preserving natural habitats. The karyakartas of Garo Hills Vibhag of Meghalaya took active efforts and initiatives to make the event a grand success.
