Tura: July 11: ACHIK and other NGO staged a hunger strike on Tuesday opposite to the Mini secretariat in Dakopgre, Tura.
While speaking to the Hub News, Labenn Ch Marak, Executive member of Council of Elders, ACHIK said, “We have tried meeting the CM and the GoM, but we haven’t got the opportunity nor any response. We want the attention of the government to be on us, and give us the time to sit and discuss.”
“We want to be clear about the JRP, the backlog policy. Will it be there or not, he said.”
He further said, “we have heard about them talking about perspective and also heard Ampareen tell the media.”
“We have doubts in our mind. We want the govt representative to meet us, mostly we need the audience of CM himself,” he added.
“We the Achik along with the like-minded NGO have gathered here, opposite the mini secretariat in Tura,” he said.
The AChik had given an ultimatum to the GoM for a reply but no reply was served to them.
