Tura, July 23: The Rajabala unit of the Achik Community and Health Initiative Committee (ACHIK) has appealed to the Public Works Department (PWD) Minister for immediate repairs to the severely deteriorated Rajabala – Selsella Road in West Garo Hills district.
Highlighting the plight of the road, president of Rajabala ACHIK, Sildorik Ch Sangma, said, “The road has been in a deplorable state for far too long, causing immense hardship to the residents of Rajabala and surrounding areas. We call on the PWD Minister to act promptly to repair the road and restore essential connectivity.”
Sangma emphasized that the road’s poor condition is severely affecting daily commutes for students, office-goers, and villagers, as well as impeding the transportation of vital goods and services. “We urge the Minister to prioritize this issue and allocate the necessary funds for urgent repairs,” he added.
The Rajabala-Selsela Road, a crucial link connecting several villages and towns, has been severely damage with numerous big potholes, making travel both difficult and hazardous.
