Tura, Oct 31: The A’chik Conscious Holistically Integrated Krima (ACHIK), Southern Zone, on Thursday filed a complaint with the Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills regarding unauthorised cloth sellers entering the DC office premises, with employees reportedly shopping during working hours.
In a letter to the DC, ACHIK SZ General Secretary Wilban N Sangma described witnessing a cloth seller inside the DC office, with staff members browsing and buying items instead of attending to their duties. Sangma urged the DC to restrict traders from accessing the office premises, particularly the General Branch, and to ensure all departments under the DC’s jurisdiction prohibit unauthorised vendors from entering the workplace.
“It will help maintain a professional environment and ensure employees remain focused on their official duties. The office is not a marketplace,” Sangma said.
He further suggested that the DC should issue an official order prohibiting vendors from entering the office during working hours.
