Shillong, Sept 07:Â India’s Aditya-L1 on Thursday sent pictures of the Earth and the Moon clicked as it went ahead towards its destination Lagrangian point (L1). It is located 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth.
The pictures clicked by Aditya-L1 were shared on X, previously known as Twitter, by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) along with a selfie that Aditya-L1 had clicked.

ISRO’s Aditya-L1 space mission was lifted off from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh on September 2.
To date, the spacecraft has completed two earth-bound orbital manoeuvres and is set to perform two more before placing it in the transfer orbit towards Lagrange point L1.
Aditya-L1 Mission:
The second Earth-bound maneuvre (EBN#2) is performed successfully from ISTRAC, Bengaluru.ISTRAC/ISRO's ground stations at Mauritius, Bengaluru and Port Blair tracked the satellite during this operation.
The new orbit attained is 282 km x 40225 km.

Meanwhile, Aditya-L1 is expected to arrive at the intended orbit at the L1 point after 125 days.
ISRO Chairman S. Somanath said that India’s other ongoing space projects include a human spaceflight programme which aims to launch astronauts into orbit for the firsttime,e possibly by2025.
