Guwahati, Feb 15: Advantage Assam 2.0 is set to be the Northeast’s biggest investment and infrastructure summit, bringing together seven partner nations, nearly 350 business meetings, and a stellar lineup of top industrialists, diplomats, and investors. Scheduled for February 25-26, 2025, at the Veterinary College Field, Khanapara, Guwahati, the event promises a grand showcase of economic potential and strategic opportunities.
Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that this year’s summit will witness unparalleled international participation, with Bhutan, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the UAE confirmed as partner nations. Additionally, six more countries have registered their participation, while confirmations are awaited from 14 others. “This extensive global presence reaffirms Assam’s role as a key destination for cross-border investment and trade,” he said.
The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2025, at Sarusajai Stadium, featuring Jhumoir Binondini, a grand cultural performance celebrating Assam’s vibrant heritage. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will preside over the valedictory session as the chief guest.

Advantage Assam 2.0 will host an extraordinary 349 business meetings, including B2B and B2G interactions, fostering high-level discussions, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities. The summit will also feature participation from four key bilateral agencies and three multilateral agencies, further strengthening Assam’s global economic footprint.
A 2,91,895 sq. ft. temporary venue—the largest ever created in the region—will accommodate a 2,200-seat Inaugural Hall (Brahmaputra) and four thematic halls named after Assam’s great rivers: Barak, Kopili, Manas, and Dhansiri. The event is expected to attract over 10,000 attendees, making it a record-breaking summit in terms of participation and engagement.
A sprawling 88,000 sq. ft. exhibition space will feature 150+ industries and entrepreneurs, including Tata, HUL, IOCL, ONGC, Vedanta, and GAIL. The 10,000 sq. ft. Assam Pavilion will highlight the One District One Product (ODOP) initiatives, GI-tagged specialities, and the state’s growing industrial infrastructure.
In a significant move to drive economic growth, the Assam government has launched the Assam Startup and Innovation Policy 2025 and the Aerospace & Defence Manufacturing Policy 2025 ahead of the summit. These policies aim to boost entrepreneurship, attract high-tech investments, and position Assam as a hub for innovation and defence manufacturing.
The summit will feature discussions led by top Union Ministers on crucial economic growth sectors, including Act East Policy
, Semiconductor Industry, Hydrocarbons, Transport & Connectivity and Export Promotion
Additionally, 20 expert-led panels will cover critical sectors such as tourism, renewable energy, electronics, aerospace, sustainable harvest, food processing, and logistics.
