PM Modi to inaugurate the biggest summit on Feb 24 

Guwahati, Feb 16:As preparations ramp up for the highly anticipated Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit in Guwahati, the government is gearing up to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with numerous industrialists and dignitaries from around the world.

Scheduled for February 25-26, 2025, at the Veterinary Field, Khanapara, the “Advantage Assam 2.0 – Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025” aims to highlight the state’s potential for growth and development.

Addressing media on Saturday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the state has made an endeavour towards strategic shift to attract private sector investments.

He stressed that while the previous summit focused on government-led investments in infrastructure projects, this time, the emphasis will be on private investment to fuel the state’s economic growth.

“Last time, our focus was on government investments, particularly in infrastructure projects like gas grids, pipelines, and the Numaligarh Refinery. This time, we are focusing on private investment. While there will still be some government involvement, the primary emphasis is on inviting private companies to invest in Assam,” the chief minister said.

He also informed on the state’s ongoing initiatives to foster innovation, especially in emerging fields like AI, semiconductor technologies, and deep tech industries.

“We are making progress, and despite some limitations, we are already in talks for foreign investment during the summit. If we address these challenges, Assam will see even greater investment potential,” Sarma concluded.

The Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit is set to be a game-changer for the state, positioning Assam as a key investment hub with a strong emphasis on private sector participation.
