Itanagar, May 17: The District magistrate of Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh on Thursday has issued public advisories after growing cases of dog bites.
Two districts in Arunachal Pradesh have issued public advisories amidst growing cases of dog bites. The two districts are Itanagar Capital Region and adjacent Papum Pare districts.
“All the pet owners of Papum Pare district are to ensure that their pet (s) are administered with the requisite vaccination and confine their aggressive animals and dogs safely within 15 days otherwise eviction will be carried out in Papum Pare district,” the order stated.
It further added, “They should ensure that their pet (s) is always on a leash when outside home and not left in the open in public places creating nuisances,”.
“In the event of any symptoms of rabies in pet(s), the same may be reported to the District Animal and Husbandry Veterinary officer, Yupia, Papum Pare District for further necessary action,” the order said.
Recently, the twin capital city of Itanagar- Naharlagun has witnessed a sharp increase in dog bite cases.
A total of 117 cases have been reported in the last week.
