Shillong, May 15 :Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari, Chief of the Air Staff of the Indian Air Force, visited the 509 Signal Unit (SU) at Eastern Air Command in Shillong on Wednesday. He was welcomed by Air Marshal SP Dharkar, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Air Command, and Group Captain Vivek Sharma, Station Commander of 509 SU.

During his visit, Air Chief Marshal Chaudhari interacted with the station personnel and congratulated the unit for being awarded the President’s Colours on March 8, 2024. The event was marked by the presence of veterans who have served at the station since its establishment in 1964, providing an opportunity for the Chief of the Air Staff to engage with them.

The visit also included a comprehensive review of the operational capability and readiness of the 509 Signal Unit.
