Guwahati, April 26: In a tragic incident an AIUDF (All India United Democratic Front) polling agent died at a polling booth in Assam’s Hailakandi district during voting.

The deceased has been identified as Farooq Ahmed.

According to reports, the incident occurred at the Gollashera Primary School polling centre, located on the Assam-Mizoram border.

“He was performing his duties, suddenly he collapsed and was declared dead immediately. The cause of death is suspected to be brain stroke,” said a local resident.
