Akashvani Assistant Director invites Meghalaya Governor for Regional Workshop

Shillong, Oct 25 : The Assistant Director of Akashvani, Ferdinand A. Dkhar paid a courtesy call to the Governor of Meghalaya, C.H. Vijayashankar, at Raj Bhavan Shillong on Friday.

During the meeting, Dkhar extended an invitation to the Governor to be the Chief Guest at the event of Prasar Bharati, Directorate General, Akashvani – A 3 Day Workshop on the “Impact Assessment and Capacity Building” for Akashvani Kisanvani & DD / DD Kisan Programme Producers of Eastern and North Eastern Region from November 12 to November 14 an upcoming Doordarshan Kendra (DDK) program focusing on the North Eastern region.

Dkhar briefed the Governor on the significance of the program, which aims to highlight the agricultural diversity, development initiatives, and regional contributions of the Northeast to the nation. The Governor expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Akashvani and DDK in promoting the rich heritage and potential of the region through their broadcasts.

The Governor welcomed the invitation and conveyed his support for initiatives that foster unity and integration among the Northeastern states and the rest of the country. He further commended the role of public broadcasters like Akashvani and DDK in connecting the people of India through informative and meaningful programming.
