Guwahati, June 19: What do Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim have in common other than being in the Northeast? Interestingly, the ministers in both the governments are crorepatis.
The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) and Arunachal Pradesh Election Watch have analysed the self-sworn affidavits of all 12 Ministers including the Chief Minister from Arunachal Pradesh State Assembly Elections 2024, and have found that all the 12 ministers are crorepatis. In Sikkim also all the 12 ministers are crorepatis.
The information is based on the affidavits submitted by the ministers before the 2024 Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim Assembly Elections.
The average assets of 12 ministers in Arunachal Pradesh analysed is Rs 48.33 crores while in Sikkim it is Rs 21.72 crores.
In Arunachal Pradesh, the minister with the highest declared total assets is Pema Khandu from Mukto (ST) constituency with assets worth Rs. 332.56 crores. The minister with the highest declared assets in Sikkim is Nar Bahadur Dahal from Khamdong-Singtam constituency with assets worth Rs. 74.10 crores.
The minister with the lowest declared total assets in Arunachal Pradesh is Gabriel Denwang Wangsu from Kanubari (ST) constituency with assets worth Rs. 1.65 crore while in Sikkim it is Bhim Hang Limboo from Yangthang constituency with assets worth Rs. 1.58 crore.
Five ministers in Arunachal Pradesh have declared liabilities out of which the minister with the highest liabilities is Pema Khandu of Mukto (ST) constituency with Rs. 180.27 crores of liabilities. In Sikkim, six ministers have declared liabilities out of which the minister with the highest liabilities is Nar Bahadur Dahal of Khamdong-Singtam constituency with Rs. 19.01 crores of liabilities.
While Sikkim does not have any women as a minister, Arunachal Pradesh at least has one.
