Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday evening said today there is peace in North East as more than 8000 members of insurgent groups in the North East have surrendered and joined the main stream, paving way for an enabling environment for development of the North East. He also appealed to the militant groups in Meghalaya to come forward to talk to the Government of India and join the ‘agenda of development’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and work with the government to make Meghalaya a developed state.
