Guwahati, Jan 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday reiterated the Modi government’s unwavering commitment to driving the development of the northeastern region by strategically applying the principles of “Act East, Act Fast, and Act First.” Shah emphasized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) continuous prioritization of the Northeast, highlighting its integral role in India’s national fabric.
“During the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, steps have been taken for the development of northeastern states, leading to the establishment of a dedicated Northeast ministry. The present government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has adopted a proactive approach by stating the three guiding principles of “Act East, Act Fast, and Act First.”
Shah stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, all ministries have been directed to accord precedence and swiftness to projects and initiatives in the northeast.
Amit Shah, who is on a three-day visit to the northeastern states of Meghalaya and Assam, arrived here in the evening from Shillong and was given a traditional welcome with ‘gayan and bayan’ (a religious dance performance with drums and cymbals).
