Guwahati, Jan 20: Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed confidence on Saturday that India would be rid of the ‘Naxalism menace’ within the next three years.
Speaking at the Sashastra Seema Bal’s 60th Raising Day in Salonibari, Tezpur, Shah commended the unique role played by the SSB in integrating the culture, history, topography, and language of border villages. He highlighted the significance of bringing people in these areas closer to the rest of the country.
Shah declared, “In the next three years, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country will be 100 per cent free from the Naxal problem.”
Additionally, Shah is scheduled to participate in the 13th Triennial Conference of the All Bathou Mahasabha in Dhekiajuli, unveil a book titled “Assam’s Braveheart – Lachit Barphukan,” and inaugurate the renovated Brahmaputra riverfront in Guwahati.
