Ampati hosts volleyball tournament to identify top players for Meghalaya Games 2025

Ampati, Nov 16: The South West Garo Hills Volleyball Association, in collaboration with the District Sports Office, Ampati, successfully organized the Volleyball Tournament 2024 on Friday at Students’ Field, Ampati.

This event was a key opportunity to identify top volleyball talent from South West Garo Hills for the upcoming Meghalaya Games 2025.

The tournament saw a spirited turnout, with a total of 15 men’s teams and 8 women’s teams from across the region competing.

In the women’s category, the Mustang Ladies team emerged as the champions after a hard-fought match against Sangma Marak Mix Team. Tachi M Marak stood out with her outstanding skills and was awarded the title of Best Player in the women’s category.

In the men’s category, the Lions Volleyball Club clinched the championship by defeating the Andra team. Alan Ch Marak’s exceptional performance on the court earned him the Best Player award in the men’s division.

This tournament not only showcased local talent but also highlighted the growing enthusiasm for volleyball in the region.
