Tura, Dec 6: Thousands of angry citizens of Garo Hills took out a protest march demanding police to find and arrest the perpetrators who committed the heinous crime of rape and murder of a 17-year-old girl who disappeared on December 1st while heading to school to appear for her Class 10 selection exams at Dalu border town of West Garo Hills.
Her decomposed body was found in neighbouring Dimapara village of South Garo Hills district, three days later.
On Monday, several hundred school students led by social activists and student organisations assembled at Dimapara school field to take part in a rally to condemn the incident and demand justice.From school teachers to headmasters, student leaders and social activists, speakers demanded immediate arrest of the culprits and ensure justice to the victim’s family.
Shouting for justice, the public marched in unison to Dalu town demanding justice.
